About Us

HELIOS | hee·lee·os | greek god of the sun.

Helios is a boutique floral design studio specializing in weddings and other celebrations. It brings endless joy to create designs for each of our couples that play a part in the start of their lives together. Our studio is located at 128 Margin St. in Salem, MA. We do not have regular retail hours, but are available for scheduled floral pick ups and workshops. We serve all of New England and surrounding areas for special events and occasions. Each of Keelia’s designs are uniquely inspired by seasonality, intricacies in color, and the movements of a landscape.

  • Commitment to our Environment

Helios is committed to doing our part to reduce our environmental impact.

-As of January 2020, 1% of all of our profits will be donated to the Xerces Society, a science-based non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the conservation of invertebrate species and their habitats. You can learn more about the Xerces Society here.

-We do not utilize floral foam in our designs. Floral foam is a plastic product treated with chemical detergents in order to create a “foam” that holds and extends the longevity of cut stems (very handy!), but has been found to contribute to microplastic pollution in aquatic environments. You can learn more about floral foam here.

-We do our best to utilize recycled/recyclable and compostable materials in our packaging.

-We source as much of our product from local farmers as possible, aiming to minimize the amount of carbon emissions used to get your flowers to your event or table. We believe that investing in our local communities and small business owners will help to grow and sustain a healthy economy.

  • Keelia Gardiner | Owner & Creative Director

Keelia is from Denver, CO and began working with flowers in the summer of 2015. Her original love is the garden, and all of its layers of intrigue. With a degree in Biology she has always been unfailingly fascinated by how intricately organized yet unruly plants are. In October 2018 She moved to Salem, MA where she is constantly in wonder of the lush and diverse New England flora, although does miss the abundant Colorado sunshine in the winters! On days that she is not in the studio you can find her elbow deep in her garden or sifting through racks at the local thrift stores for treasure.
